Finnish Jewellery Art getting international @ Design Museum!

On the 6th of September I was given the opportunity to attend the international Jewelry Art seminar held at Design Museum, Helsinki, organized by the Finnish Jewellery Association, Korutaideyhdistys. The juried group of 18 Finnish jewellery artists gave a short presentation about their work to the group of invited international guests working/collecting in the field of jewellery art.

The day was interesting not only for the guests but surely for the artists too finding out the latest pieces their colleagues had made. Also a nice catalogue had been made for the event, that will surely function as a reminder for the high quality Finnish Jewellery Art for some time!

"Commotio cordis (Latin, "agitation of the heart") is an often lethal disruption of heart rhythm that occurs as a result of a blow to the area directly over the hear (the precordial region), at a critical time during the cycle of a heart beat causing cardiac arrest. It is a form of ventricular fibrillation(V.Fib), not mechanical damage to the heart muscle or surrounding organs, and not the result of a heart disease. The fatality rate is about 65%. It can sometimes, but not always, be reserved by defibrillation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commotio_cordis
